Le Yémen, officiellement la République du Yémen et connu en arabe sous le nom اليمن, est un territoire chargé d'une riche histoire islamique. Situé à la pointe sud de la péninsule Arabique, il est reconnu pour son patrimoine architectural, notamment les maisons-tours de Shibam, ainsi que pour ses contributions significatives aux débuts de l'islam. Le Yémen a été un centre majeur pour le commerce de l'encens et myrrhe dans l'antiquité et continue de jouer un rôle important dans le monde musulman.
