•Les beys husseinites ont régné sur la Tunisie de 1705 à 1957, apportant stabilité et modernisation au pays. Ils ont gouverné sous la suzeraineté ottomane puis sous le protectorat français, jusqu'à l'indépendance et l'abolition de la monarchie. La période antérieure (1117-1376) fait référence à une influence locale, mais la dynastie principale est reconnue pour son rôle du XVIIIe au XXe siècle.
